I grew up in Bridgewater, NJ, where my parents still live.
Bridgewater is about 30 minutes north of Princeton, 45 minutes
southwest of Newark, and about 1 1/2 hours northeast of Philadelphia.
I was born May 4th, 1968 in Somerville, NJ.

University of California - Berkeley

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
. I graduated with a B.S. in 1990.
On July 28th, 1990 I married Susan Elizabeth Stolte, the girl next door
(well, actually about 1 mile away).
I attended the
University of Washington
in the
Department of Computer Science and Engineering
. I received my M.S. in 1992, and my Ph.D. in 1995.
My advisors were
Gaetano Borriello and
Carl Ebeling,
and my thesis was
"Multi-FPGA Systems"
.
I was funded by an AT&T Bell Laboratories Fellowship.

From October 1995 to September 1999 I was an Assistant Professor in
Electrical and Computer Engineering
at
Northwestern University
.
In December 1998 we bought our first home, in Evanston, IL.
Since September 1999 I have been an Assistant Professor in
Electrical Engineering
at
The University of Washington.
On November 18th, 1999 our first child, Lindsey Madison Hauck, was born.
